“It’s not happy people who are thankful, but thankful people who are happy”, which brings me to the question “when was the last time you said thank-you? Or send a note saying thank you?
In this world of cyber communication, handwritten messages of gratitude have become something of the past; while grand gestures are appreciated saying “thank you” in writing is a special way to let people know that you appreciate their kindness and it make a bigger difference in the end.
Words Are Medicine
Regardless of how you choose to express it the words “thank you” are powerful words, when they are said from the heart. They can convey to another person your love, your respect, and your gratitude. They say, in effect, “I see you, I see what you did, and I appreciate you.”
Humility is often overlooked, as we often forget that practising gratitude is practising humility, sometimes we forget it not about the stuff we have, its about the intangibles, the experiences people’s presence and their personality, and the fact that we all have a lot o learn, no matter where we are in life. don’t discount your success; own them, we can’t hide success with humility , we can only be thankful for everything that brought us where we are .
Try to remember for moment about a time when you were receiving someone’s heartfelt thanks (be it your partner, your friend, or even a stranger in the street.) How did it feel to receive it? The thing is when we put ourselves out there for someone, or we go the extra mile, when we do an exceptional job we would like to be recognized, and appreciated for what we have done.
Saying thank you. with a note makes a good impression on the recipient so Start noticing when a thank you is in order and express it from your heart to people in your life. Pay attention to how it feels, while opening your heart to let yourself be seen basking in the great feeling that heartfelt thanks will bring.
So the next time someone is hospitable to you or does a kind act, show that you do not take one’s effort for granted and remember to thank you!
