How do I show which poems I like?
- There’s a “like this?” link on each poems’ page.
- You can only like each poem once.
- You must be a member and logged in to like.
- You cannot like your own poems.
- You can unlike a poem (on it’s page) if you change your mind.
- Liking a poem is less of an endorsement than adding it to your reading list.
- Liking is anonymous.
- Your liked poems currently don’t get saved anywhere (so add a poem to your reading list if you want to bookmark it).
- Eventually likes will go towards “popular poems” rankings, but carry less weight than reading list entries.
- Liking poems does not count towards your personal rank (title) or standing as a “top critiquer”.
- You can see how many poems you’ve liked, and how many likes your poems have received, on your “my profile” page.
- Liking is not a substitute for commenting, but you can like a poem at the same time as leaving a comment.
- Adding a poem to your reading list automatically registers a like for that poem
How does Modern Konections protect my work from being stolen?
“Copyright on the internet is a difficult issue, which no major brand (record label, production company, games manufacturer or author) has managed to comprehensively resolve. Being international, the internet has no common laws. But modern konnections has its policy (as outlined in the terms and conditions shown when members join) to remove copyrighted material which has been posted here, within a reasonable time frame (from when it was brought to my attention by the copyright owner) and to ban any members who persistently submit such material. With regards to protecting the content which is published here by members, it is clearly stated on each poem page “All work remains the property of the writer. Don’t use it for any purpose without their permission”. When you submit a poem you will also see the message “Your poems remain your property. You’re just agreeing to allow it to be posted on Deep yanique.com So you may ask, what’s to stop someone copying and pasting your work and using it for something else? Well nothing, and there is no website that can offer you this kind of protection.
There are fancy ways to stop people from right clicking on a page or so forth, but all of these can easily be bypassed by someone who has the mindset to do so. However, it’s not all doom and gloom, one of the benefits of poetry in this respect is that, with few exceptions, it is an art form with little or no commercial value (write poetry for love not money!). There is unlikely to be a situation in which someone would claim poems they found on the internet as their own in order to pursue financial gain. It is more likely that someone would take the work, because they thought it was really good, and they want to try and pass it off as their own. One of the best ways to protect your work from this is to keep it posted up on a responsibility run and established website like Deep Underground Poetry, and keep your registered email address up to date.
This is because we store the publication date and every subsequent modification date for all poems included in this site. In addition, the modification text is stored so each version of the published poem can be proven. That way, if you ever did find yourself challenging someone for using your work without your permission, the fact that it was posted on yanique would serve to assist your case by providing evidence which connects you with your work (and the date when you submit it). In conclusion, it’s a matter of personal choice; the internet has its benefits and its problems. You can choose whether or not to share your thoughts and ideas with the world, in much the same way as you can choose whether or not to open your front door in the morning and step outside…
Why is no one commenting on my poems?

Can you give me some advice about writing poetry/Blog
Poetry/Blog is a creative art form so it’s all a matter of opinion. All I’ll say is that if you want people to respond well to your work, stay away from writing lines just because you think that they “sound poetic”, or how a poem “should be”. Write about stuff you know about, write about things you have actually experienced, write about how you feel. A poem doesn’t need to be serious. It just has to mean something, otherwise what is the point?
I have a really good idea...
That’s great because ideas are what Deep Underground Poetry is all about. If you start a thread on the forum, and you get some support, then I’ll try to incorporate your idea into the website.
